Looks more like Crash out of the Air! But respect for them trying jumps and tricks with those kites. I wonder if any of those guys are in Cape Town to witness what this event has turned into. It is a really big deal here these days.
I had one of those early Naish C-kites, a 9m, and hated it almost as much as my North Rhino 12m. I was so glad to replace them with Waroos, and now I can't even sell my old Waroos for $80.

Was this the first King of the Air?
I got into kitesurfing in mid 2001 after watching a kitesurfing competition on TV (think it was on Speedvision). It may have been at Maui. What got me stoked was the boosting. I think they were riding surfboards flying 2 liners, perhaps Wipikas? The comp. may have been sponsored by Wipika. Anyone recall this?

I doubt Robby is here, if he was he would be around Kevin Langaree at least a bit and I have not seen him.

Robby is currently in Germany at the Boot fair in Dusseldorf.
Might fly down these days?
