It's a great jump but 200m - I don't think so. Media sensationalism. The aerial photo by joriws appears to be taken at a lower tide than when he jumped in the video. That would make it look longer. I agree with Toby - 100m.

I think a few people should put down their measuring tapes and go and try something a tenth of the size before bagging Olly..
There is a damn good reason no one has jumped it before.
Just like when Lewis jumped Brighton pier, the shouts of fake or all that shit was pathetic
Celebrate the fact that a young kiter got on a national news site for making our sport look cool and doing something that normal people can look at and simply be astonished.

Jori, if maps shows it’s that long I believe it.
I would have loved to see Ollie with a foil at KOTA.
He truly deserves it with his riding and variety.
And I am pretty sure he would smoke a rider like Sam Light, who is a great rider, no disrespect, but with boots you just don’t have diversity. Only full Boot rider who has a change is Jesse, since he dies some crazy different things there.
Just Kiteloop is so 2014. No chance!
I do hope Ollie gets a chance in 2020

The distance I put on FB was a guess based on where I think he took off and landed. It's not 200m in my opinion.
Either way, it's a very long jump and pretty damn high too.
@James - I will put the googlemaps measuring tape down.

That's what I mentioned on earlier post about water level. My copy of Tone's FB-picture-post was later and sure it is best guess as I did my guess. Lower tide would mean lift-off point could be closer. But erosion/wave breaker fences on landing site do no lie unless fences were moved after satellite visit to take picture..
If fence-to-fence is measured with google maps it gives 100m minimum. Tone's map has IMO better approximation because he jumped mid-point between fences and further away. Xensr would have been nice because it has GPS with IMU and we would not have to guess..

70m is from mid-bank bushes to end of fence on same line as on attached pic.

Never mind if it was 500m. Great performance and hats off. Not many riders got the balls for such a jump.

Well I did the challenge but on landing area there are very little reference points until Olly turns head after landing..
Here is the outcome and I think it is fairly safe to say 150m, my measurements 175m with landing site identification problem. I tried to highlight fences & lines & features airborne position could be evaluated.. And pink line to picture from video..

Please don't get me wrong. It was a fantastic jump.
And the average kiter only dreams of such a jump. Me included. Olly should have been allowed to compete in the KOTA. It would have given a fresh perspective comparing LEIs with foils.
