Nick was there and I think Gijs is also Duotone rider. But Strange to not see Lewis as he is also sponsored by WOO.

Somebody on this forum called it a game and I think that is a very good caracterization. I think there are other games for which it is far more unbelievable that people enjoy them - pinball, pacman etc etc. But they do. Whats also unbelievable is how much emotion WOO apparently triggers. Mention WOO a few times and there will be somebody saying that it's inaccurate, that it's a toy, it's too expensive, imply that people are stupid using it etc etc. Over and over and over again. It's becoming like foilkites..

a friend of mine works with red bull and said no realtime data. woo is just a marketing partner who paid to be part of th event but their data isn't used in the event with the judges since the results are only available after the riders come in off of the water. riders aren't required to ride with woo and id guess some riders with deals with other sensors aren't allowed by contract to ride with a woo. they have a camera partner which restricts riders from using their own pov cameras, but no mention of woo so I guess they don't rate. The rules talk about height being a judged factor but with no mention of woo it must be subjective from the judges viewing stand?

Ok, thx for the info. Good to know.
But maybe one day in the future live data is possible with whatever sponsor. Maybe Apple Watch?
For sure would be cool...also for us online viewers to see live height...harder to judge from camera view than from the beach.

The South African guy doing the commentary said that the competitors each had a Woo on their boards and that the judges could refer to the Woo data if the heights of jumps were close, to get more accuracy. Struggle to see how a Woo would be more accurate or even possible at the distances the riders are from the judges.

If you connect your Woo to your smartwatch I can't see why, if you're watch has 3G or something, they couldn't figure out a way to send it real time.
