Still, the kite needs skilled rider to get most of it.
Agree 100%. I messed up on this kite and paid. I think the slash in the same condition would have been much easier on me. Dash pulls harder in loops.
Btw the dash is great for onshore wave riding too.

Hi everyone and thanks for all your comments and opinions.
My story is that I have rode old PARKs (2013 and 14) and now its time for replacement
The offer I have is either Dash 1st release or 3rd release (upcoming one). Also ATB bar 2018 or the one from upcoming release.
Im tempted to get kite 3rd release and with older bar ... Life is full of difficult choices, haha

Take care when you get the 2018 bar, that they attached the new updated lines to it. I would better take the 2019 bar. I had a lot of trouble with two 2018 bars with the standard lines. Real crap.
I fly my Dash and Pivots with the Cabrinha 1X bar since then. Working great and a lot cheaper, too. The Naish bar is not "state of the art" any more and way too expensive for what you get. Waiting to see some R&D from Naish here....
here the video of them trying to whitewash the situation back then. Jesse had to do that - maybe Kevin refused

I would wait for the 2019/2020 Dash. Looking really great. Should be a mix of both previous versions. Added some more power for low end. Let´s see if it´s true or only marketing blah but I am really curious for getting mine. Ordered 14/11/9 and cannot wait to get them.
I personally do not like the current version too much. But the previous 2018 one was a killer. 2019 version is shaking a lot when I use them well powered, though I give them some extra viagra and pump them up till 13psi. No problem for the kite so far with the high pressure. Also the Octopus valves keep the pressure where I was sceptic at first.
I weigh 110kg - I think this is too much for the skinny front tube of the new Dash. Jesse, Damien and Ewan that used the kite are at aroung 75kg so more the weight of a fly
Here you can see a well done video of a test of the Dash 2019. It is in German but if you watch the video only you can pretty well see how the kite is behaving:

True about the lines, but big +1 for Naish for coming out and offering free line swap - they replaced my old and worn (and streched) lines without issues, for free. And I do really like the bar - the swivel just keeps on turning so smooth, unlike other brands that just start getting stuck after 5 sessions or so.
Regarding your choice, I think the comments are clear: 2018/V1 is a guaranteed killer kite. 2019/2 was imo a downgrade. 2020/V3 apparently will have fixed some of the 2019 issues, but no one has flown it so who knows if it's marketing or really true. If the price difference between the V1 and the new V3 is significant (V1 being cheaper), I would just get the V1 - save some money, and you can't go wrong with those. Only reason to get the V3 would be better resale value afterwards...

Does anyone know if Dash v1 (first release) is made with Quad-Tex (canopy material)?

Yes, it does. It came out for the 2017 season when Naish introduced Quadtex.

Thanks a lot for replies guys!
@Gonzolinho - once you replaced lines in your 2018 bar, does it work OK?

I have had them both.
The vs 1 was more freeride, the v2 is alot better unhookt, slack, more a C feel..

Hopefully the development in this direction will continue w/ V3, without compromising the freeride qualities. Not easy to be done isn't it...
