I don't agree. Just wait 8 weeks and then see if you feel the same way. There is something new on the horizon...
Cabrinha RAM kite? Yes, please! ;)

I used to ride Cab kites since 2005 till last year when I switched to Soul by Flysurfer. I just lost faith in Cabrinha's vision.

Being a boss of big kite company I would not ignore new demands, trends and developments in kiteboarding.

I wish I am wrong and Cabrinha will introduce a new foilboarding programme with a revolutionary RAM kite, carbon foil, kite and control bar and a range of proper foilboards in 8 weeks on a new TAB dedicated to foilboarding.

Giving up with Apollo, Chaos, Velocity was poor move IMO. Developing such shapes might lead to revolution, helps to break new limits and shapes the sport. 10th edition of Switchblade is just evolution.

Big things coming in the foil program. And we didn't give up on Apollo, Chaos, and Velocity, the market stopped demanding them. Anyway, you will see that we are always considering innovation in design including with kites.

Curious, what are you looking for in a control system? Feel free to PM me so we don't gum up this thread.

IMO for an advanced foiler BIG things to dream of would be:
- a RAM kite,
- a new chicken loop-less, leash-less and fireball-less harness and control bar with IDS,
- carbon masts min 100cm long,
- foils which weight is below 3kg,
- wings dedicated to waves, surf & SUP and race,
- volume boards (30-40ltrs) with weight below 3kg and mounting rails,
- small freestyle foilboards,
- a return of race lines from 2012,
- a carbon fuselage,
- a platform with holes 90x165mm
- ultra light waterproof straps,
- all screws M6,

For an average foiler it would be:
- a return of refreshed Apollo with diameter of LE of FRX kite,
- a new chicken loop-less, leash-less and fireball-less harness and control bar with IDS,
- carbon masts min 90cm long,
- foils which weight is below 3,5kg,
- wings dedicated to freeride, freerace,
- volume boards (30-40ltrs) with weight below 3,5kg and mounting rails,
- a platform with holes spacing 90x165mm
- all screws M6,

For a beginner foiler it would be:
- a return of refreshed Velocity,
- a new chicken loop-less, leash-less and fireball-less harness and control bar with IDS,
- volume board (40ltrs) with weight below 3,5kg and mounting rails,
- a platform with holes spacing 90x165mm
- all screws M6,
- no chance to assembly a kit with trailing edge looking forward and wings in normal position. Yes, it is possible with DA :o

Heard from different source that Cabrinha is releasing some new kite "foil friendly" similar to Velocity in March in few weeks time. Will be on sale this year. I'm putting on hold buying apollo and contra as I was planning to do so!

I like the Velocity for twin tip riding, the Apollo was a bit of a let down since it was geared more directly toward foiling crowds and less for the TT rider.

I'd love a refreshed Velocity with a design that gives a little less bar feedback (like the Contra). I know there's limitations on the physics side of a shape, design, etc. but good to hear that a return of the Velocity is in the making since I have been keeping my eyes out on the CrazyFly Hyper to replace my old Velocity kites

Velocity seems to be the best inflatable from Cabrinha for foiling and for a recreational rider IMO.
It would be great if Cabrinha relaunch a control bar and lines from 2012 to match "new" Velocity. A tackle 3:1 would be only one thing to improve.

BTW -
I've got to sell:
a) Apollo 10m from 2018 to sell. Used max 5 hours.
Only kite, bag and repair kit. 730€ including shipping (Europe).
b) Apollo 5m from 2018- used once. Only kite, bag and repair kit. 680€ including shipping (Europe).

If anybody wants both then 1300€ including shipping.

I bought both kites in April 2018 and a month later I got first Flysurfer Soul - it meant the end of inflatable era for me ;)

Bracuru, if you love the Soul why do you care about Canrinha's foil offerings? Are you sure about your Soul or not?

I simply wish all the best for one the greatest company in this sport.

Bought my first Cabrinha kite (CO2) in 2005. Since then I fell in love with Cabrinha kites and believed I'd use them forever.

Then foilboarding and ram kites era arrived. I was hoping and still hope that Cabrinha would enter this market and would shape it.

Unfortunately Cabrinha do not deliver a gear suitable for my skill.
I ride Moses since 2013 and Souls since last year.
I hope that Cabrinha would look after riders on all levels of skill with their new foil programme.

Soul - yes Sir, I am sure about it.
I am not going to touch any inflatable as I haven't touched a twintip since 2010.
Why should I come back to a Trabant if I can ride a Mercedes?
I believe that Soul-like freeride kites are future not only for foilboarding and a kite manufacturer who does not invest in this type of kites will lose a huge portion of the market in coming years.

I just ordered my first soul 15m rather than getting contra 15m and soon will find out if it was a good choice but I would be reluctant to buy small foil kite as their lunching seems so much more dangerous than LEI
In small sizes due to east of lunch LEI have big advantage
