Dude, straps dictate your riding to the same degree, just different.

Everyone is different. I came from windsurfing, but left straps behind and moved into boots and then predominantly strapless, I just can't get comfy again in a strap. Give me full heel hold down or give me freedom. Whatever, thats just me.

I'm basically the opposite to Bragnouff's enjoying all the different sports he does for their differences. I ride different boards an really appreciate the shared mechanics. Ripping around on terrain of different flavours!! You kidding me? I foil, like I snow kite, like I twin tip, like I ride strapless, like I snowboard like I onewheel. The things Im doing are different, but the lines I choose are all the same.

. might have been a bit harsh, but hey some days that is the first reaction. When it comes to the clique, I did not mean the people who likes strapless riding..I am one of them. It was the people who did the whole ride strapless and fixed bar and said it was the only way to ride. I am working with Mikelet here to resolve my issues with it tho LOL. His comment to me was just too funny
Take your pills dude ....take your pills !!! :D

A surf with straps is a twintip with more volume... :thumb:

Interesting comment!

90% of strapped riders know that volume is 99% useless when kitesurfing.

99% of strapless riders think that 99% of the volume in a kitesurf board can be useful.

Fins, their significance related to edge/edging, and footplacement directly over those fins, makes a directional kitesurf board.

My feet and toes were so happy hugging soft cushioned pads today....like they always do !! :jump:
Good old Norths....the best there is IMO...same on all my 3 different width boards....there are too many crappy straps out there....big turnoff for sure for many

Wind was side-side-on around 14 but quickly went up to 21 mph ...surf waves smallish 2-3 footers :D
Great ramps
Great jump heights
Great fun
Great transitions....love those inverted table tops downloops
Great off the wind wave rides
Worked for me....killed it !!
Can sure work for others too
Put them in the right place...at the right width for your foot and your stance..and very important the right looseness so feet is free twisting

Coming from Windsurfing i don't think of my boards so much as surfboards but as miniature windsurf boards on steroids !!

Every windsurfer knows the importance of the mast base position in the track with short boards....there is an ideal position to find
Well think of your front foot in the strap as the mast base....it becomes a fixed point.... all there is to do is move the back foot to trim board / out of back strap / then back in...so on
Normally the center of your front ends up somewhere between 3 to 5 inches above the centerline of board's topside

Wild guess is that...the fun that 90% of strapless people say they have ...has been strongly exaggerated !!
The youngish elite can in fact kill it....the youngish elite often rides world class waves....they might as well be part of the Cirque de Soleil & Wind !!

I love riding full on chaos conditions strapless and feeling at ease.

Its one of life's best feelings. It totally dictates the riding, but it's what I enjoy.
Dictates, restricts, limits, handicaps, constrains,.......
