An unexpected session at Miramauii, super constant S wind, sunny and warm.
That was a fun one!
Matt, road access is now open all the way to the boat ramp parking. I believe i could still see some of your tracks from a couple of days ago.
Here is the link of the rules for the Greager and John Kane tracts.
https://cpw.state.co.us/learn/Maps/DanNobleSWA_geo.pdf as you can see, the Hill on the E of the reservoir is part of the John Kane, and also closes MArch 1st. I launched from the boat ramp.
This spot is soooo good! I wish it could be that constant in Spring/Summer hahaha

Poverty. Gulch.
You can’t measure enjoyment in dollars.
It was over an hour approach with horrendous skin glopping. Heliski tracks and crown lines galore. All worth the investment though. So freakin amazing I might go again tomorrow. Anybody?

Nice reports guys! I too had a really great time at Miramonte this week. I had my pup with me so I didn't venture out way north. Bummer that the east side hill is closed now, gliding off that was the best part! I agree, I wish the wind was that nice in the liquid season.
Glickster, that pic is amazing! I wish I could get out today but I'm at home with a sick kid. Momma and boy get to go powder skiing. Sometimes you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug.

That Miramonte session looks amazing!! Thanks for those shots and Glickster, that terrain is next level, much respect. I wish I lived a little closer to these hot spots at time. I think a splitboard is in order if I want to access some of this stuff as I'm trying to resist buying a snowmobile.
Justin, Josh, and I tried to score at Blue Mesa Friday and it fizzled hard. We got there around noon in the space of an hour winds died from 20 to 5. The snow was incredible heavy in the warm temps and it was impossible to get moving. Poor Josh is still trying to have a breakthough day and that certainly wasn't the time for it. Part of the sport though...gotta learn to deal.

Nice day at Taylor yesterday. The snow was surprisingly soft after such a warm storm cycle. The rest of the week looks pretty promising for wind and more snow!

C'mon Scott, Taylor is the coldest place on record in Colorado. Don't try to convince us that that place is warm and snuggly ha! RMP is closed for the foreseeable future due to 30' deep avy debris on the highway. I have work tomorrow in Norwood so I'm gonna hit the Reservoir Tract at Miramaui again. Anyone game?

Matt, wish I could check "Miramaui" out with you guys...just a little too far. Scott, do you guys park close to the Marina? I can't remember if that site is park-n-ride friendly. Probably can't get over there until friday or saturday but give a shout if you go, would love to see Taylor when it's on!

Chris: I usually park near the marina. If the wind is good you can launch pretty close to the road otherwise a 200yd. down hill ski or board to the lake. I'll probably be up there the rest of the week unless we get snow and Hinkle Road gets good. The wind looks pretty good through Saturday. Let me know if you come this way.

Mickey,
Small kites today! I hope to be up there about 2pm. What's your take on the DOW parcel south of the reservoir/kane tract?
