Soul jumping instructions

Postby kiter4fun123 » Wed Apr 03, 2019 12:54 pm

Hi,

Are there any jumping instructions from flysurfer for the soul?

I've just replaced my speed4 with this kite and I wonder if the jumping technique is different with the souls?
For speed4/5 flysurfer provided instructions in the manual but I can't found this for the soul.

This is the instruction for the speeds:

1 - Bear off the wind a little to pick up
speed. When you have enough speed, edge
hard and bend your legs as you steer the
kite aggressively back toward the zenith.
The bar should be sheeted out as much
as possible until you are ready to take off.

2 - Pull on the bar as you push off the
water and the kite flies past the zenith.
As you reach the pinnacle of your jump,
steer the kite forward and park it in the
zenith. Keep the bar pulled in as much
as possible to maximize hangtime.

3 - Just before you land, you will need
to depower the kite a bit and steer it
forward. This will give you the momentum
for you to plane/glide away after
landing. Bend your legs and point the
nose of the board downwind on landing
to absorb the speed and power.

So same for the soul or do we have to adapt the technique?

cheers :D

Hey, k4f. The timing for boosting with various kites can be different, but the basic concepts for boosting are always the same. What you've described for the Speed 4 is the boosting "recipe" for every kite, including the Soul. Your timing will fall into place as you get used to the new kite.

too much work.

is easier to just download the flysurfer soul app.
simply input your personal preferences....how hight you want to jump/hangtime/etc... then data is uploaded to kite immediately via the clouds or something.
...it automatically tunes so kite does everything for you.

you just point it where you want to go...and the kite takes you.
want to jump 20 meters..easy.
create some tensions in lines.. point the kite and go.

NIce vid I like that extra lift on the loops.

Personally I always like to send hard for the most pendulum . I like hard lift with hard drop, feels nice, a loop or 2 is always nice too :-) I think long hang time and sustained height looks the best. Most vids never show the kite so can be hard to deduce others technique, but boosting is fun to experiment. Except in very high wind mistakes can punish hard.
