Has someone pointed out that the wing is in front of your face and needs to be held up with your arms the entire time?

If there's wind then the wing will hold your arms up.

A windsurfing sail is in front of the whole rider. They have very limited vision through the sail.

I think the idea of the wing is to catch a wave then hold the leading edge in one hand while you foilsurf with no power from the wing, or do a downwinder where you use the wing to move between swells or to get back up on the foil if you need to.

I spend a lot of time riding swells with the kite depowered. It's still necessary to keep some tension in the lines to stop the kite falling. That little bit of tension is enough to add some power to the foil so it's a bit of a stretch to call it surfing.

I'm certainly not dashing out to buy a wing, but I can imagine using it on those 40-50 knot days when it's a bit silly to try and fly a kite.

I have not tried a big sup foil. How easy is it to get on the foil with a small kite? Do small waves help?

It's interesting to note that Kai was riding a SUP board with that Ozone wing and if there was anyone I would have expected to ride a sub 50L board with a wing it would be Kai.

I'm highly skeptical about what their definition of "works" may be...

The Kitewing on concrete with hockey skates needed a good stiff blow ... if I had to, I'd have to guess 12 to 15 knots was a pretty sedate session.

Bear in mind that Robbie used a 4.7m sail to film a load of promo material for the windfoil videos (and he was talking similarly low wind strengths in that). Based on that it doesn't seem unlikely. Remember that he's not a heavy guy either.
