It's a team of people that bring a piece of equipment to the market. Thankfully it's this way as people come and go. Market research/r&d => opportunity => product brief => initial design => testing against brief => more design => final prototypes => production evaluation => opportunity still exits? target USP and prices met? => commitment to raw materials/finalization of marketing package => production samples evaluated => tweaks if necessary => sales team training => production => marketing launch and delivery. This isn't one person, or even three for that matter.

Agree with Cabdriver. There are lots of cogs in the wheel.
People move around and come and go and kites, boards and bars etc keep improving bit by bit.

Congratulations to Gin. No clicky clacky bar or bum balls, but real innovation.
I think corporations are blinded to new ideas in the pursuit of one , profit. No doubt this advance in kiting was the work of one or at most a few. Steve Jobs had it right.

So, so far I think it is
Eleveight the guys from Best
DuoTone the guys from North
North the guys from Cabrinha
Cabrinha the guys from ?
PLK not Peter Lynn any longer, the guys from ?
Corrections? Any Others? Anyone fill in the blanks?
Well and then there are two new elements .
https://www.vantagekites.com
https://www.ullmankiteboarding.com
Vantage promising new methods of R&D and Ullman and "New" North having access to almost everything you can think of in sail cloth and composites. It will for sure not be boring for the next couple of Months .

Having worked in sail cloth manufacture and supply there is nothing new or revolutionary in terms of material that Ullman /north with bring
The hybrid fabrics have existed for years, the question will be if they get built in a light enough weight to be practical.
We had a dyneema reinforced Dacron the dynema was woven in in every 19-20-30 whatever thread count was needed, that would create a tear/burst proof LE or strut.
The problem is volume, a brand would want a small 50m roll to build test kites from at say 200gsm. The factories are geared up to build 400gsm minimum weights at 500m
IF the person holding the purse strings wants to pay the cost of altering to a lighter weight and the short roll costs then yeah it might work
But the factories producing the cloth are selling 100s of thousands of meters so buggering about for a tiny speculative roll isn’t high on the agenda,
In kiting we get what the sailing world don’t use in any volume and we don’t have the purchase power to get bespoke product
As for Ullman getting into kites? Why? It makes absolutely no sense.
