You wire rope will eat your stainless ring in no time... because of the twisting motion of the cable, it will do like sandpaper..

Wire rope clips need to be tork with a dynanometric ratchet otherwise you will tight too much or not enough... wire rope = no good...

Ok cheers. Looks like my steel wire rope slider will be temporary only. I checked out the rings after one 1-hr session and they have already roughened up a bit on the inside. I'll enjoy it while it lasts
I'll need to get some new dyneema rope to string up and probably add a low friction ring.
Based on this experience though, I definitely won't be buying a dedicated rope slider spreader.

Interesting idea. Awesome that he made his own spreader. Put the slots and holes exactly where you want them .
With the setup of the rope running over the top of a fixed hook, e.g. my dodgy wire rope slider, I liked the option of going from hooked-in to slider on the fly and vice versa.
This I did when I swapped my foil out for my twintip during a squall.
Guess you'd need a lockable carabiner or something to change during a session, rather than opening up the chicken loop...?

My rope slider harnesses are made from my old ION B2 shorts, free to do, really easy, just cut away the hook, and use independent 6mm line.
Either with stopper balls or simple knots.
Zero wear if using the north duotone rope slider chicken loop, which is a direct fit for the ozone click in bar as well.

I find spreaders make it hard for flying switch footing as you have to lean more over to get the lift of the kite to switch....probably just getting used to it...

If you end up with the slingshot rope slider bar as in the top one in the pictures then like me you may find the slide distance is to short, making for half baked toeside rides, making you trying to force the bar found a bit more whilst riding,
Or as I tried, I lengthened the rope to offer up more slide distance, this really felt bad, very jerky and horrible for boosting on a Ttip as the chicken loop snaps back to the center as you move around in the air,
The longer rope on the bottom bar is perfect for foil and Ttip, the rope is long but close in so you don't experience the jerky snappy off/on movement when the rope has a large V in it

Question I: Appearances may be deceptive, but are you running a single length of rope on both loops? i.e. There is no backup rope, rather, two lines of the same rope? If so, what is the reason for this?
Question II: What knot do you tie at the end of the rope? Looks like some kind of stopper knot.
