ITC advice

Postby lavueltalmundo » Thu May 09, 2019 3:17 am

Hi guys,

Im looking forward to get my AITC and ITC done (not sure yet in which school), but there is a couple of things Im not quite sure about and would appreciate any input from those of you already teaching.

I was mainly wondering the possibility of getting the course done somewhere where they offer an opportunity to work after getting it done there/with them (if this even happens) or not worry about it and just get it done anywhere. Not too sure if some schools offer some kind of internship for ITC graduate students.

Also how quick should I consider finding a job should be once you are fresh out from ITC with no actual experience.

Thank you!

Hey I'm a full time instructor and absolutley loving it , there is a huge amount of work for Instructors all year round as season starts all over Europe now and in October season starts for Mexico and Zanzibar and Dakhla ect ect. Once I finished my course I looked on the IKO website in the job listings and picked up a job easy . Helps of course if you speak more than one language and have previous teaching background or sporty lifestyle.

Hope this advice helps you and enjoy it, you get to meet a lot of nice people and share the passion off Kiting .

Hi Barryg101, thank you for your advice (and encouragement!)

Any idea where exactly the season is good in Europe (im thinking the typical Tarifa)? And I totally thought Mexico had no real wind season, as I was there recently and few kiteschools were around.

Thanks heaps again for the info!

No worries man always a pleasure to help !

Tarifa is okay I've had a few chats with schools and even done my IKO there but there is a bit of a problem with this new FAV certificate people need to teach IN Spain.

Summer last year I worked in Portugal was a great spot and good wind . If you get me on Instagram I can send you a contact @sandykites .

Just finishing a 6month season in Mexico now Holbox island and the wind has been 11-16kts pretty much all season we could teach the wind is light but fine for lessons.

I worked 90% of season too light but consistent wind for lessons.

All the best man

No way, I was just in Holbox a month ago and did know there were some kiteschools, but didnt think the wind was consistent enough for actual lessons. I only stayed for a couple of days, though.

Of course, ill send you a message over Ig so we get connected. Thanks Barry!
