My first covers were simply harvested limbs from old decommissioned wetsuits. Each limb made a cover. Simply tie off, or if you must, sew the ends shut and cut out a hole in the center. Works great. Have also used foam padding cut to size and then a solid full coat of duct tape. Eventually my pride pushed me to pick up a proper canvas foil cover, but I still use the crap ones for storing the wings I don't use anymore.

I have used home made neoprene ones for 18 months now, but the sharp wing ends and trailing edge have just about killed mine after this length of time, and after just seeing the Gong covers(above link) I was impressed, so I have ordered the small one for my 633 and 683s wing sets, (The large covers are way too big)

Closed cell foam mat (camping mat) and duck tape (several layers at wingtips)
Cheap, light, easy.
Functional but not pretty

Another option to buy a premade set:

Or if one can use a sewing machine. Have a look at the covers used on WS fins. One type is a simple 2 layers of EVA foam sheet sewn together. The other appears to be thin vinyl sheet sewn together with webbing or other trim around the edges:

Went with the windscreen cover. Need to use big stitch length otherwise it tears. Just two halves with a simple bit of vecro on the nose. Will see how it holds up. Not a huge amount of protection but should be good enough.

You can cut any thick foam sheet and then glue pieces together with a cheap glue gun. I buy cheap light interlocking foam floor tiles (one is shown) and use them. Here are a few wing protectors that I have cutout and glued. In the top left of the picture is blue foam covers over the front wing and a brown cover over the back wing. These covers just slide on.
