Those doing the Ozone bashing are still assuming they know better than Ruben, who was there and has stated that the cause was his error and not the equipment. So again - Ruben is either lying or people who have seen nothing more than a video think they know better than him. And as the last poster said, if others have experienced failure then they are keeping very quiet.

Downunder, third party testing by Uwe from Gleiten.Tv. Ozone & North both 6kg under 120kg.
https://gleiten.tv/index.php/video/acti ... /page/344/
Check out the other bars, requiered force listed under the vids.
Problem with older bars were too high forces to ejected the QR.
Thats why the French Norm came up

12 pages of mainly bashing Ozone QR bar but no other kitesurfer mentioned to have any unintended QR incident, unless there is a huge conspiracy among people "had problem with ozone QR" and being pay big bucks to keep quite.
Fanboys of other brands sometime enjoy bashing competition to feel superior for chose something that "is better"
The opening of the Core QR was mentioned as well.

Ah well,

Looks like mistaking someone's bar reviews for the proper lab testing.

Who else fishpoled the bar? No one. Who else is doing maga loops in 25kn with a click bar fully fishpoled?

Thats the question to ask. Not about trust or lying.

Plus, this bar is quite new on the market, and being EU/US winter...

But, in my view, where are the heavyweights like Rickl, AV, matty and other safety oriented guys now? All keeping quiet, waiting for this to be forgotten.

Maybe the solution is to put a disclaimer:
"Not for looping the kite, jumps over 1m, or injury might happen"

Hows that?

good luck.

@ Downunder. Just little info for you. Uwe Schröder is a german Certified Expert for watersport equipment, like the famous TÜV.
Their testing of the ejecting force is valid and intertestable

I guess the point the criticists are tryong to make is that it’s bt the shpe of the quick release toggle and not the force needed to QR?
If the shape of the QR of ozone would be different then perhaps fishpoling the bar wouldn´t release the QR?

maybe.

But this is something that should be looked up for sure in the QR design.

I don't think brands gave this a lot of attention...maybe now.

Few weeks ago had personally touched two new Ozone bars and their QR, definitely shoking loose power of release, practically no tension at all to release. Can't imagine how possible to throw hundreds megaloops and not brush it accidentaly.

The thing that strikes me about the video is that, by Ruben's standards, the conditions were pretty benign & the jump was not particularly high. The injury appears to have been caused by crash landing with boots. Are boots too problematic for jumping really high in extreme conditions?

They suck when you crash, but they're great for stable landings. Straps are the other way around.
