Has anyone tried putting the sliding rope-style spreader bar inside a PU tube to help reduce wear?

Makes it sticky and doesn’t slide smoothly. Kind of ratchets across, annoying. Also, if the tubing doesn’t go all the way to the end of the rope, the chicken loop will get stuck there. But go try it, might be better without a chickenloop as there are other choices now.
