Maybe he just switched his kite for a wing to get that shot

Naaaa - I'd say fake. If you look at the overall difference between the rider and the wing you can tell. The wing is lit up, almost as if it was suspended under nice lighting on display. Compare this to the rider. He looks washed out and even almost a tad blurry. Its subtle but these distinctions of comparison between two close objects will almost always give it away.

He must have put windsurf harness line on his Naish wing so he can hook in when ploughing back upwind?

That is Real no doubt about it. Saw the stream of the finals of the SSS...

In imitating skateboarders wakestylers do struggle needing to hold on to handlebars pulling high in the air for easier balance, and glue their board to their feet with affordable $99 snowboard boots costing $699 so the board doesn't ever fall off. While we are at it lets switch concrete for nice soft water and make $2000 "street obstacles" and float them on the sea to be urban street core. Make them so wide that balancing while sliding is not necessary. Just another day of a wakestylers extreme awesomeness .. we do see a few of the top riders riding foils these days, image is everything.

So you see.... the wingfoil is the natural progression for wakestyle kiteboarding.

The helmet really tops off the whole look, I am not surprised considering the dangerous angle of that raley, and the subsequent consequences.

The SSS is taking it to a whole new level, lets support the move to replace dangerous kites with wingsurf wings.

Wake style kiteboarding is cancelled., wakestyle wingsurfing is here to stay.

If you don't get involved, you are part of the problem.
