I was about to drop the money on the new DJI Osmo camera as it was getting great reports however I still think the GoPro 7 has the edge so went for that (I lost my old one)
Latest video reviews def seem to still favour the GP7

I also have the GoPro 6 black, it's awesome and really does take incredible video.
I use it with the UGo line mount (incredible device) as well as a standard cheap headstrap mount from amazon for a different perspective. I mostly just take take stills from the video footage and they are super high quality.
Quality is great; I have thrashed it many times, dragged across beach many times, lost in waves several times, and freedived with it without any incident. It's also cheap because it's the older model

I think the fogging case was with older models.
6 and 7 don't need an extra housing, right?
I don't on my 6.

I started fpv drone flying and became familiar to new series of products. There other brands doing Session-like cameras like Foxeer and Runcam. Of course check IP rating if suitable with kiting. Price is a nice point.

After testing for a couple of weeks now, I have retired my Go Pro Hero 7 and am very happy with the Osmo Action. Full review is also coming soon, but I feel that DJI understand Watersports better than GoPro does now. The Hydrophobic coating on the Lens Cover and Screens, better stabilisation when in a linemount and almost no lens distortion are just some of the things that DJI have done way better and make the user experience as a kiter much better. There are some small things I would like, but those can be added or changed in Firmware. Best part is, the Osmo action does not crash.
