For me, I think it is just right. I have a good feel for where the kite is all the time and never have the impression that it is heavy. As stated my experience on this kite is limited. Also I tend to like a little bit of bar pressure. I don't think someone would say the CA Wave bar pressure was heavy.

that said if anyone in usa or DR is interested... i have a barely used 8.5 wave if anyone wants it.
barely used as in it has never been used on the water much less been in the water.
it was rigged/flown on the beach a few times.

so...more or less "new".
(doesnt really fet my quiver either)

Sorry to just break into this thread but I have a very old Concept Air Wave which is rigged as a 3 line kite ie brake line all attached to third line. It is still a lovely canopy and it pulls like a truck. In your opinion is it worth making a mixer for it and if so do you have any pointers for design? Does anybody have a photo handy of the current bridle.

Why don't you send an email to Benoît and ask him? I saw that he is proposing to update old smart open cell kites.

A video of a rider with a wave 6.5 on flat water:

It give a good idea about how the Wave 6.5 flies on an hydrofoil in light winds.

I'm still interested in these kites. I have a Hyperlink 7m , 9m UL and soon a 13 m V2.
Only hydrofoiling. 80kg on big Moses 633 wing.
When wind is over 22 knot the HL 7m is a handful. My water conditions in over 20 knots is very choppy and confused wind waves.
What size would you recommend? 3m or 4,5m ?
I need good overlapping to 7m so 18 knots to 25 comfortable. Manageable into 25-28 knots I'll not likely ever Hydrofoil in over 25 knots.

The price is reasonable.

I would say you need a solid 20 knots to use the 3.
