Naish Dash 9m (1st edition) does NOT fly

Last session was with 25 knots. With gusts and full powered on (NOT depowered) it was OK. With no gusts it was still bad. And one more remark - with 25 knots i normaly start using my 7m (im 80kg).
Something is wrong.
I cant make extension lines at the moment like Dirk suggested but Im gonna try to make another knots on the bar adjustment.

Hope it will help. I heard so many good things about Dash (also here on the forum) and so far it is disappointment.

I have shorten my back lines up to 11cm (see the pic) using the bar adjustment and temporary doing an extra knot..
Hope 11cm front line extensions will do the trick because now I can barely close the bar adjustment (with so much extra line inside)

A bit similar issue as if someone says: My bike has been behaving weirdly lately. It is very heavy to pedal, I can't keep up with my friends with it. Rocks and roots hit to the rims horribly and when I press tires with my thumb they feel very soft. What should I do?

Back line/front line lengths are not kite design parameters. It is trivial to shorten backline leaders in the kite by adding knots.

By buying brand new kite and bar from authorized dealer you rather expect it is trimmed properly and works out of the box.

You should know how to tune a rig if you are going to take it to sea! If you bought a 49er you would expect to have to tune it.
This is not play station.

11 cm is not a tune up. Thats a workaround.

Fair point! I am suffering from cabin fever led mood swings so my apologies for being curt! I too have had a number of kites that do not fly well out of the box and you have a right to be a bit grumpy with the provider as it is annoying.

I am also glad that you have not reviewed the kite based on the length of a pigtail! Fair winds and good riding!

Ask Naish what the proper distance is for the back line knot from the kite. Maybe someone else has the same kite you can compare. Seems like its just the rear line knot is too far from kite.

Bridle adjustment is not an easy task. If it was only the front to back lines ratio it would be not an issue.

Anyway I would check it in water in lighter wind with too short backlines and would start depowering it and checking at which point kite stops backstalling (or the other way round - check when backstalling begins). Once it is done check how much depower was pulled to calculate how much to shorten front lines or extend back lines.
You check for backstalling by pulling bar in and if kite falls on its back - too short backlines or too long frontlines.
IMHO all modern kites should be factory tuned not to backstall. Oversheeting for more power is just wrong.

Good luck. If it is a simple tuning issue it is alright. If its a bridle issue - I would return or would expect a warranty replacement of bridle (unless it is a canopy issue). Tuning bridles or finding out canopy issues if way outside any regular kiter skill set.
