If you can already loop without thinking and just want to do old-school airstyle tricks, this is your kite. ......or if you're really fat.
Great explaining, this is where i was hoping for, thank you!

Well I personally never tried the EVO but I really would love to!
My rebel feels like an allround kite to me but without testen the EVO I can not compare...

In big sizes, I would go for Rebel.
For an EVO, I would pick 2019 over 2018. 2018 was heavy in big sizes.

Dont you think the 5 strut rebel is better in smaller sizes and so stronger for harder wind?
I would like to buy a 6m but am in doubt between the Evo and Rebel, I currently have an 8 & 11m Rebel ..

For a 6m, I would definitely choose either an Evo or a Neo. Rebel would be very fast in the size. That’s why my 12 is rebel and my 7/9 are a Evo. In strong wind I would prefer to ride in a lower aspect than a higher one. I see stability in this

i have a 12 m duotone EVo and a 11 m duotone Rebel ( and a 9 duotone Rebel and a 8 m north 2018 rebel )
I had a 2018 North REbel 11 and a North Evo 2018 before .
I can tell you there is a difference between the North and duotone versions , if you go for big size ( 14 - 10 ) go for duotone for sure because they are faster ( smaller leading edge ) and feel more alive .
I did not like the 12 eve 2018 and now like the duotone Evo 12 !
My wife don't like the Rebel as much as the Evo , i think the Evo is more easy for beginners .
The Rebel is the kite to jump but it is not made for surf , the Evo is the one when you want to combine strapless and TT .
The Rebel jumps higher with no effort , maybe you get the same out off the Evo if you are really good , the Rebel has very little power in the loop witch makes it great to do all kind off old school tricks like dark slide , bankroll kite loop etc...
The Evo is a very different kite that has a good hangtime but in a total different way than the Rebel , it lifts you more after landing a downloop and pull's you more out off the water after a dark slide what i like a lot .( more power in the loop )
The Evo is a bitt faster but also very stabilities above you're head when performing double bankroll's and stuff like that ( The rebel shines in this aspect a lot )
Difficult choice , but for me it is Evo in the large size and for the 9 and further down for sure the Rebel !!!

Does anyone own an Duotone Evo 13m and be so kind weighing it ?
I need a comparable weight to Juice 13m to objectively understand the 2019 material advantage of the latter.
thanks !

I own the 2016 north evo and I don’t believe that has good drift for waveriding. Also I don’t like the lack of power when you try any loop at the first movement, i want to know if anyone had the same impression when try kite-loops
Seems like loose power when push the bar for loop the kite..not graduate power when turns
I agree that is good and easy kite for beginners and for learning jumps
I hope the newest or duotone evo are better on this part and better for drifting
I wonder if duotone rebel or new evo are improved on these matters

i think the 2018 north evo, three struts, drifts fine. I preferred it to the 2018 Neo in waves. The Neo felt heavy on the bar in the lower part of its wind range, where I tend to use kites in surf. The Evo is a bit faster turning and quicker to get moving again after drifting. The Neo has slightly better turning with slack lines.
The Evo seemed better suited to me on real world waves and wind as it favored moving around. I tend to move my kites quite a bit.
The Mono probably had the best drift of the three. I supposed because it was lighter. Very much like the Neo but without the upper wind range.
I haven't tried the new mono which seems like a much different kite now.
The kite that really impresses me for drifting, is the cloud kite. That will really hang in the air in light winds running downwind.
Interesting side note, I asked a kiteboarding school why they didn't have any 2019 evos. They said people preferred the Neo for learning.

I had another session on my 2019 12m evo on sunday. Was borderline enough wind that day with 12 to 16 knots and I drove towards the kite a couple times and jumped under it when kooking around. The kite just sat there with slack lines and didn't drop. Would say it drifts ok! In november I'll be able to compare it in waveriding to the 2018 neo from a learners point of view. Love the evo!
