So tempted to see the 1st video with a seat harness with a tad longer harness line!
And a kite bar trim cleat on the harness line to keep the kite roots :D

i'll give props.
propably best video i've seen so far.

the flying transition was impressive.

i'm imagine the SUP-foilers that do not kite would be delighted with these wings..

I don't get what's impressive about that transition, it was a simple toeside to healside carve from an professional SUP foiler who used to be a professional kitesurfer, no foot switch, just a downwind carve.

from Tomo's Bio:

I was Professional Kite surfer from 2000 for 10 years and started Stand Up Paddling from 2005.
I participate to World SUP event and Molokai to Oahu 32mile from 2010.
STARBOARD TEAM 2008-2018.
I love Foiling, surfing, paddling, I love Ocean, I want to be Waterman.

Agreed, pretty basic turn, but if anything is impressive it's that he did it in an hour. Contrast that to your first hour of windsurfing or kiting, even if you were already expert at the other? The learning curve appears to be short.

There was another video last week of a guy doing carving 360s, one after the other. I found it interesting, not in the sense of wanting to do that, but highlighting the potential freedom of movement. Translate that into sup/surf foiling in waves, and I think it offers possibilities.

But with the caveat, of course: it's slow, and boring, and lame, and silly-looking, and it's not kiting, and it's not windsurfing, and it's too expensive, and it's a repeat of old technology, and it's all marketing hype, etc etc etc.

I think it's disingenuous to praise this new thing to do for its freedom from the constraints of a harness. The constraints of handling a piece of gear that big at that proximity is at best a trade, if not far more limiting once the novelty is gone.

But mostly,,,,, absolutely nothing compelling about that soft power!
