Nice job, of course I already looked into this lovely board.
Since I want this board to be rather small for my size - 115cm, I thought about a scoop of 6-7cm, doing by simply gluing two 5cm XPS, then simply hot-wiring material to give an 4cm deck that goes to a 3cm nose. Am I'm missing something? this looks easier and more controllable method to a novice builder than a rocker table.
And for the bolts, yes, since I already had a foil for two years I know my position well, plus I would get inspiration from brands as well.

If you have two XPS blocks of the typical 125x60x10cm, it is possible to build some more rocker into it. With one blank i am not sure If you get 10cm Rocker, have a try to get as much rocker as you can.
I built the table with the two existing Mdf wood guides i had from the got wireing job and made a third one for the middle of the table. On top the flexible back of an wardrobe.
The XPS blanks are better glued with an Pu foam out of the rattle can, for wireing than i did with only weights on top.
For laminating the XPS, make the surface extra rough, pierce it with nails, riffle it with a pizzagrinder 3mm deep etc.
Thats very importent for the bound.

Exactly, two XPS blocks of 5cm each, so from 10cm going to 3cm at the nose providing some 7cm rocker which look good enough for me I think.
I've got 3m glue from a can which is really strong, made some projects with it in a boat and it holds well. Is the glue really matter? i would think the glassing does all the job so any glue between the XPS would be sufficient.
Thanks

The glue between the blanks must be cutable with the wire, so epoxy does not work

Xps is really soft! And you'll have to use a thick lamination to be durable enough.
Rocker table is easy to build. If you are capable of making a board, the rocker table is easy.
You could hot wire it from a block of building EPS. Hotwire the deck rocker on EPS then just lay down the 2x10 into it with glue and add some weight.

Is 2x10 enough? Adding morr volume will add to durability? Or its just a function of lamination?
Also, is there any benefit of using the g10 plates? Or should i just use more patches around the mast?
Thanks you all

The 2 blanks 10 cm thik, should make it possible to make steps at the nose, here you can see it with a woody construction for a nice rocker
http://www.losethestraps.com/forum/view ... be559bb276
Choose your desired board thickness ( with no sandwich, dont go under 3cm).4 cm is ok
Have you already hot wired something? I found it not easy to get the temperature and moving speed right.
For installing the inserts : Rule Nr1 : bottom and decklaminate must be brought in direct kontact with a hard kompact material. like paulownia, Airex... Xps is way too soft.

Check here.
This is the 2nd board I build like that.
2 cm of polystyrene foam. Easy to bend on the rocher table.
1- fix the rocher with a srip of carbon + 6oz of glass was on the deck wrapping the rails.
2- 6oz of glass on the bottom to stabilize the blank
3- wrapp the rails : 2x 6oz of glass + 12oz UD carbon
4- glue wood stringer an wood blocks for supporting the foil plate
5- a strip a 12oz carbon + 2x6oz carbon on the bottom
6- 2x6oz carbon on the deck
7- leash plug
and done
The first board is going super strong

Pierrot, super nice board. Whats the weight it came out?.
Did you use some spezial EPS-polystrene. Higher density 25-30kg EPS or normal 15kg? Do you jump your first board?

Just normal low density polystyrene.
The white one with small balls...
I don’t jump the board it if pure strapless.
The previous one came between 3 and 3.5 kg.
I haven’t weighted this one yet. I suspect it is a bit heavier has I went a bit overboard on resin quantity...
