Couple of foil guys at my beach have the Marabou 12 and the 6. Both are medium weight and use smallish wings around 600 cms area. The 12 sq m Marabou seems to work great from 6-7 up to 10-12 knots. The 6 from 12 up to 18.
The relaunch in almost all cases looks very easy, nothing like a Peak or other single skin.
Does anyone else have any experience with these or any other size?

Perfect middle ground between lei/double skin foil kite/ single skin?
Is water relaunch as good as the hyperlink and soul?

I’m sure Horst Sergio could do it. There is only one inflate valve so inflation is slow.

More like a Peak with water re-launch for dummies. All the others have better upwind, more boost when sheeting the bar and a more powerful turn. These single skins have amazing mellow downwind and fun stuntkiting behavior.
Marabou has a little better upwind than Peak, but far from the middle. The little extra upwind is inconsequential on the foil but might allow an acceptable surf/twintip session if you were traveling light. Hyperlink is a better all-rounder for traveling light if surfboard is in the mix. Soul has the best twin-tip boost.

I would put it on par with Hyperlink V1.

I had an amazing session with the 9 this weekend. Straight onshore wind 10-12 knots. Waves were 2-3 feet max. I was riding an 1100 cm wing and 70 cm mast. There was no problem getting out past the break. I rode about a mile each tack cruising out and then catching a wave. After a few turns I would just let the wave push me straight in until the kite crumpled up due to zero wind and completely slack lines. At the last minute I would head up and the kite reforms instantly. The experience is very similar to the big Peak I had. 9m is enough for me for now.
