New lines / weird problem / Ozone

Postby Beardytello » Thu Jul 04, 2019 1:15 pm

Hi Guys,

I recently fitted some new lines to my Ozone bar (v3 I think)

I'm not sure if I'm being a whopper because I can't see how new lines could cause this issue on the bar but since I've done it it feels like the flag out line is too short? Like when you pull everything taut on the front lines the flag out line stopper won't reach the line splitty thing (tech term)

However I've looked at it and at pictures online and I can't see how attaching a new line to that would cause that to happen.

Not sure if this makes any more sense:

Can't get pic to work but this is link.

Or am I just being daft and if I hook it all up to a kite it will sort itself out?

Should changing lines be so stressful

Hey, Beardy.

Ozone uses a bungee on its flag out line. It looks short when not under stress. But when the lines are under stress (like when the kite is flying), the bungee stretches and the flag out line assumes the correct length. I'm not sure this is what you're seeing, but maybe? Try pulling the lines taut with some force and see if the flag out line behaves.

Thanks dude, I'll have a bash when I get home (then I'll check the lines  )

I think I'm definitely overthinking it, realised how little attention I must have paid to it beforehand!

Sometimes lines shrink or stretch I had a similar problem that even when pulled the release line was causing one of the center lines to be a little shorter than the other . measure the new lines to make sure thyre all equal then u can add a pigtail to the release line or replace it.

Calibrate your lines - all lines should be the same length when on maximum power (ie when the bar is pulled back as far towards you as it will go and no trim/depower is used).

Check this and report back please.

Yea, you need to make sure that the bungee line has very little pull on it and that the “front line flag out stopper” is seated in the “line splitter thingy” or you will have way too much pressure on just the one front line. No bueno.
