@Foilholio. The Lift 130 is roughly 838 cm2 based on a google conversion. My board is a Kanaha Shapes 110. It's super light, has little to no floatation and a dream to ride. I don't have a scale but the whole set up is super light. Using the 11m took little effort. When the wind dropped to sub-8 I had to work a little but not much. I didn't know upwind on the Clouds was limiting until using the FS Soul. The Peak4 are similar to Clouds - totally usable and fine but not impressive. Good God, the drift is amazing and better than the Clouds which is also amazing. Nirvana for me is going down wind, feeling little to no pull and making sweeping 6 turns. I used the 5m yesterday in 14kts, gusting to 25kts. It was bliss! My direct experience is the following from best to worst
Drift - Peak4 (by leaps and bounds) / Clouds / FS Soul (not even close)
Upwind - FS Soul / Cloud (maybe slightly better than Peak) / Peak 4 (not a problem)
Launch - Peak4 (so easy including in tight launch area) / FS Soul / Cloud (Last only because you have to pump it up)
If you have you non-foil kite experience you can launch, fly and land the Peak4 easily. It's so easy! If my landing area is super tight or it's high winds I just dump it hard into the water right next to shore. It dries out very quickly. Yes, I've got some untangling to do when I get home but I just don't care. God, they are just awesome.
OK guys these kites are amazing but I have yet to cleanly self land one. I have no problems self landing other foil or LEI kites but the Peak will just not stay on the ground. I have taken to edge of window and pulled on lower front line or both front lines but the kite either takes off or flops around a few times. I also tried back stalling (NOT recommended). It has always worked out fine and easy to straighten out but a nice clean self landing seems impossible to me. Anyone have success self landing without kite rolling around?
Just crash it on ww edge and slack the lines inmediately. Crash should be just strong enough to flat kite on the ground. Work in 20 plus knts for me. This is super impresive peaks feature.

Thanks. My weight is 76 Kg. and my foil combos are: Groove Skate L/M and MHL Lift 170 /110, Ketos Pocket and V1200/Freeride 2/Wave. With the high lift foils (MHL 170/Ketos V1200) the wind ranges are the followings:
- 3 m, not yet tested;
- 4 m, 14 to 35 Knots;
- 5 m, 12 to 23 Knots;
- 8 m, 8 to 20 Knots;
- 11 m, 6/7 to 18 Knots.
I hope this helps.
Cheers
Carlo
i'm getting pretty much the exact same wind ranges with the 5m and 8m. (on similarly sized moses 790 wing..at similar weight)
i'd like to pick up one more size to complete a quiver...i'm leaning towards the 3m
a 3m should pair well with 5m and 8m? (all are roughly a 39% jump in area)
(any rough wind ranges on a 3m on larger surf wings?....esp a low end)
@slowboat
The Peak stay on the side window like a LEI. So let the kite go down on the ground Let the bar go. The kite will take is place. Then pick up both front lines and move to the kite with tension on the lines. When near the kite let go the upper line and pull the lower center line.
Similar to this except at the end you let go the upper line and pull the lower center line.

I was doing exactly this before but its unnecesary. Nowaday i just ground it. Peaks is shapeless bedsheet without line tension. So controled crash on side of ww is now my favorite.
Just crash it on ww edge and slack the lines inmediately. Crash should be just strong enough to flat kite on the ground. Work in 20 plus knts for me. This is super impresive peaks feature.
On one of my landings gone bad, the kite relaunched and I grabbed my bar backwards and accidently crashed kite into sand. It just sat there and I did think this might be a good way to self land. I will try at edge of ww next time. Thanks again.
