hot launching a 9m gen 1 Sonic in 25 knots.....now that was always worth a bag of popcorn.

Yeah I had the 9m 1st generation sonic. The final straw as what looked like a controlled side launch in 30 knots went from controlled to greater than Olympics standard sprinting as the tips flipped out and back in again multiple times. I can still remember the speed at which the ground was passing under me. I had sore feet for days from the 'slap slap' as my 110kg body went faster than it had ever gone under foot.
Awesome kite once it was inflated but a death trap when getting it inflated.

Never had a problem launching the Sonic FR or 2. Trim for full power and backstall that bitch during launch to get those tips filled quickly. Gotta be pretty quick on the depower though once it’s filled. Worked every time.

I fly the 15 at the top of its range, when the tips come out, up I go.

Rode the kite on TT from 10 mph to 14....kite flew very well... And think I made another convert to the low wind abilities of high aspect foils
