In the most recent video, it looks like you are bending your back knee just before landing to bring the foil back behind you and angle it downward to slice into the water. When the foil slices into the water, your back knee straightens again so that your foil goes horizontal. Is the knee bend a conscious step that you are taking? Looks very smooth.

yes it's a conscious step but no really necessary to land correctly. However that brings a good esthetic landing and maybe the foil "fly" quicker because of the lack of air under the foil.
So yes bend the back knee is better for smooth landing because the angle to slice water is better and indirectly it's reduce the pressure on the foil like the hip flexion
