Yes there is, the finish does not matter at all, well, it is actually lowering performance so avoided by all means.
So as scraped as possible, no colours no thick coating, just low weight, stiff, and matte surface on the foil - that is what matters.
It has been like that ever since the windsurf formula boards and kitesurf formula boards, and now kitefoil raceboards
Maybe not pretty, but doesnt matter when you know what matters, and to the eye of most who like performance, they ARE pretty when totally scraped down to the bare essentials
A problem if you are not racing full on, but for some reason want a raceboard - then you might not like this look
