Even simpler one with 4 panels only. Good luck for the windwing project

That looks really good! I haven’t had the time to play with SP this weekend, but from what I’ve seen IT looks promising

Where I live, it is not easy to get hold of dacron. For a wing like this, could regular ripstop be OK for the leading edge?

No way, on the contrary thick LE must be done from good strong materials and with good workmanship. Wing has no bridle to support it so structure must be strong and stiff.

I’ve found some PU coated polyester canvas I think can fit the bill

Interesting thread thanks
I have built a few very successful strutless kites using plans from PanTau at Wingworks - great thanks to him for sharing.
Thought it was time to have a dabble at self design, and Surfplan is the only platform available at the moment I think. Thought a wingsurfer would be a good introduction to the programme and this is what |I have come up with so far

I would be really really grateful for any feedback to tweak before I print cut and sew. One particular concern I have is the profile highlighted by the green rings - I am struggling to work out how to flatten this out which seems the intuitive thing to do - any tips very welcome
cheers

Due to life I haven`t worked om the wing for a while, but two days ago I think I finished my design!
I`ll upload some images tomorrow.
My research has made me switch inspo-wing. The inflatable grabhandles (naish, slingwing) seems awkward, and I will go for a broom like design inspired by the Duotone Foil Wing.

Final design (I think):
Front:
Top:
Bottom:
Side:
The wing is 4 sqm with a span of approx. 3m (flat).
There is no center strut in this design, but a telescope pole will be mounted in its place.

Wouldn't the setting
Profile depth (%) at chord (%) under
Profile - Wingtips take care of that? And maybe
No profile at wingtip = true.

Consider having less segments (in the wingtips), they just increase amount of work. In general Surfwing is primitive thing, there is no need to try to make it more complex than it has to be. Stiffness is probably the most important thing, and IMO your LE looks too thin at the wingtips. It may even buckle under load (there is no bridle support). So check out and estimate how thick LE strut is in commercial wings. In some projections SP shows LE strut deformed at the wingtips in your design, IDK if there is some real problem or not. Worth checking and playing with different options for the wingtip shape, some of them also look correct.
Steve25: there is fully manual adjustment for canopy curve in SP, also for dihedral wings. Practically any shape is possible. Mr. Hansen explained this earlier in this thread.
