That makes sense plummet, let us know how it works out... Some people might buy small quantities if you list it on shapeways or one of the other 3D build shops.
Inserts are ordered. They turn up in a couple of weeks.
I'm super stoked to be ordering my first 3d printed titanium part. Oooh.
In increase the webs between the to allow for more surface area of resin pick up and reduce the change of the insert being pulled out of the epoxy/carbon.
I would have thought the whole idea is to have a titanium bolts and brass/ss inserts.
So that brass/ss will give away first. Isn't that the idea with windsurfers/HF fins/masts etc?
Better to re-thread insert than pull it out. And not sure where is the "meat", the offset plate is minimal. No need for offset on top, no pull from other side, right?
These users thanked the author downunder for the post:
There reason for TI on the inserts is primarily for corrosion resistance. The SS bolt will corrode away before the TI insert. I've never had and insert pull out, and these will be more located and checked in than my last waterjet cut parts.
I'd much rather have to replace a bolt that's stripped or damaged than than try and repair and insert.
Armstrong foils are using 3d printed titanium inserts. The engineering and corrosion logic is sound.

I was about to make the same comment, i.e. why the top and bottom offset/rim is the same?
Wouldn't it make more sense to have the lower one a bit wider.
Ah, one more point - shouldn't the outer surface of the cylinder be grooved?

Why the same offset? Easy of installation.
Yeah groves would have been good. I didn't think of that at the time.
