Electric Landboard Kite

My electric landboard can move 30mph easy, and I want to take this to the air.

What type of kite would be ideal for low wind conditions? I’m looking for solid jump air - enough for tricks.
Would a small trainer be alright here? I’m thinking anything larger would be dumber than this idea already is.

You'd want something like a Soul for that. They are not cheap though.

Using a trainer will not work out and you'll probably hurt your self.

Hey, gugs. I love your vision. But what does electric power add to the mix? If you have a kite that's capable of boosting you and your ride, you'll have all the power you need to propel your board forward without an electric motor.

I would suggest you first learn to fly a trainer kite and then advance to jumping in light winds. Going out with a large kite and no experience is a sure way to hurt yourself and destroy your electric landboard when you kick it off in an airborne panic. I appreciate your enthusiasm but you should slow things down a bit. If you are using the landboard to create apparent wind in no wind days, you'll need a lot of electric power to pull that sail along at a speed safe enough to jump and a poorly timed redirect will drop you.

I guess I had envisioned this more as a paramotor.
Speed into your jump, and then an easy fall back down given the speed decrease... these physics right?..

Really just looking for a good way to get this into the air with a smaller (and cheaper) kite.

The artificial force of the board has to come in somewhere right?

The only way to get significantly into the air with a small kite is to have lots of speed. Once the speed decays the sink rate will be very high, ie it will drop you like a stone. Don't even try it!

Big high aspect ratio kites could give you floaty jumps but they are expensive. You might be better researching speed wings, as dune flying with a speed wing may have some similarities to what I think you envisage. But that's not cheap either! (The speed wings I am referring to are like small paragliders, also used with skis for mountain decent flying.)

All these things require a lot of skills to manage the risks involved and so hooking up with a kitesurfing paraglider might be your ideal. Playing with a very small kite to see the problems will still require care etc. but tiny hops would probably be maximum air. It would be into wind experiments first. Good luck and stay safe.

Do you know how to operate a land-board while standing , holding a kite
with wind pushing it ?

Hey, gugs, have you considered a "wind wing"? With your board speed, you'd probably be able to get small jumps with a wing. Plus it'd be a lot safer than using a large kite.
