Long story short a friend of mine gave me his old Woo to try out and I needed some tech support and after weeks of no reply from them i poked around their social media and nothing since earlier this year so I can only surmise that theyre out of business. ?
I guess that subscription app thing didn't work out for them? can't say I'm surprised since that sort of gps tracking is available for free everywhere else no need to pay them for it.

Just received new woo unit because it went broken after one year use. I'm not 100% satisfied of woo quality (also casing issues), but their support is great!

Definatley not I've needed support from woo a few times and found the customer service to be excellent! Always got a quick reply and my problems solved without any hassle at all.
They have even updated the woo 3.0 mount case with a little screw inside the blue clip which is waay more secure.

Huh what do you mean?
Friend of mine has just received a new Woo so they are definitely not out of business..
The question of whether things are going well is a different story.

Plenty of companies keep selling old stock while the company is effectively out of business with no employees . Take soloshot for example. All the employees quit almost two years ago but the founder is still selling cameras in stock without any support or filling warrantees. No social media posts from woo or Leo. Meh, doesn’t much matter since im just trying to get an old woo up and running but all the signs that the company is defunct are there. Trace. Xenser. And now woo. Is Piq next?

PIQ seems like the devs abandoned development a long time ago. They are still honoring warranties though as I had to warranty a unit not too long ago and they did it.
Some major issues with the PIQ such as adjusting LED brightness, the Loopergate scandal (do a kiteloop and the sensor thinks you landed at that altitude), lack of any new updates/features in over a year, lack of social media posts, etc. They are done I think. Shame I like the hard product but it does need support.

So how do you explain that my buddy has received a new Woo and has mail traffic with a Woo employee if they effectively out of business?

If you are selling just stock to get the last cash in, would you exchange any Woo for free ?
Doesn’t make sense.
