@SURFFOILS

Good to see the progress. Some really interesting designs there. I have a slightly different approach I've been noodling on as well. Just emailed you about it.

Very interesting Surffoil. My question: I have the impression that the big brands are not interested in twin tip foiling. I can't understand why, everyone owns a TT and an adaptable foil is for sure very interesting and the first step to directional foiling. My case: I'd like to foil but I'm really lazy about learning transitions, a TT foil would be very attractive to me.

Pmaggie, I can explain my design very easily.
A standard single lateral foil has very little stability on its own. Foil makers decided to add a second unstable foil at the back, so it’s a balancing act between lift and AOA on both unstable foils.
For forward stability it’s just like a boat, surfboard, ski or anything , the longer the LOA or ‘wheelbase’ the greater the stability.
Why use two unstable lateral foils when a single long foil makes the ride so much easier ?
Dunno, but it’s what everyone’s buying at the moment.

Adding pictures are very easy, even from your mobile phone.

When replying click on post reply, don’t use quick reply.
Below the text field you find “attachment”.
Click it and choose your picture from your directory.

If on laptop or pc, simply drag the picture from your folder or desktop into the text field.

Industry is deadly wrong (like with wakestyle as no 1 discipline) that foil TT are not wanted.
I think that would even sell more than directional foil in the near future.

For sure Toby! First of all, it's a "psychological" problem. In my home spot, 20% is now foiling, rest of the bunch says:
- Too expensive to buy new, used gear not a deal since designs are changing very quickly and "old" (1 year old) ones are surpassed and difficult to use.
- Too much work to learn transitions. Made 100 of all the local kiters who began to foil, after one year only 20/25% can change direction without effort, the remaining 75% falls in the water frequently.
- Don't want to buy other expensive and bulky stuff, I like kitesurf also because I only have to carry a sack and a small board.
I think 90% of these guys, including me, should be tempted by a foil you can just add to your TT (no need for a directional). Also, no need to fight with transitions. I understand that all who are lucky enough to kite a lot of days will find this arguments stupid, but they're not the only kiters on earth, there are also kiters who ride only 20 times a year. For these guys, learning to foil on a directional is not that easy
