I found it more hassle when leaving the bar attached, so after two attempts I never repeated leaving the bar attached,
my wife pauline is normally with me every time I go sailing, she has never used a kite of any sort and just watched me set up and helped me land most of the time.
I only fly chrono v3 kites and a few small hyperlinks.
so get this!
last Sunday as I dropped my kit on the beach a guy I know came talking to me and we were yapping away for ages.
when he left i turned back to my gear
Pauline had set up not only the 9mtr chrono, and rolled out the bar, but had sorted out the lines and attached up, the kite was set up all ready to launch,
bar was just lying there on the beach ready for me to clip in.
remember I have only been using these foil kites for 4 months, pauline has never used a kite of any sort.
without any hesitation I clipped in, shouted over to pauline "ready" she gave me a thumbs up, and the kite took off, not a problem at all.
new generation foil kites are so easy to set up.
quick and easy.
but yes, the change over from Lei kites can be confusing for a short while, even stressful for a few weeks,
but it all comes together with a little practice and learning from the mistakes you will make.
the old grey sticky long confusing bridals of old, are history.
