The best all-rounder in the Duotone range, the Evo is a favourite among many, for freeride, big air, waves and anything you want to do on the water.
The Evo has been in the Duotone line up for many years now, and in the constant search for improvement, it has become the best performing kite across all disciplines. Riders like Tom Hebert don’t let kiteboarding define them, and they love to do freestyle as much as they love old school big air and foiling. The Evo is Tom’s choice, as it doesn’t hold him back, no matter what he decides to do. For 2020 we removed the pulleys from the bridle, this has the effect of increasing the responsiveness of the kite while still offering incredible depower. There is also a new trailing edge design incorporating a wave pattern that drastically reduces flutter and canopy wear in this critical area. The Evo can be flown as a four or five line kite, and the three-strut delta design is ready for anything you decide to do. Kiteboarding has always been about freedom, don’t let other kites define you, let the Evo set you free!
KEY FEATURES
BEST ALLROUNDER OF THE RANGE
AN EASY JUMPER WITH MASSIVE SHEET-AND-GO QUALITIES, OFFERING HUGE DEPOWER, POWERFUL LIFT AND A MASSIVE HANGTIME. IT'S THE MOST ACCESSIBLE KITE FOR ALL TYPE OF RIDERS.
EASY WATER RELAUNCH
THE RELAUNCH IS VERY FAST AND EASY, THANKS TO THE DELTA DESIGN THE KITE DOESN'T STICK TO THE WATER.
POWERFUL LIFT AND HUGE HANGTIME
PERFECT FOR FREERIDE PERFORMANCE WITH EXPLOSIVE POWERFUL LIFT AND HUGE AS WELL AS LONG HANGTIME.
DELTA KITE
THE MOST COMFORTABLE DESIGN WITH A VERY SMOOTH KITE PROFILE. UPWIND ABILITY IS UNMATCHED AND STEERING PERFORMANCE IS VERY FORGIVING.
THREE-STRUT DESIGN
A LIGHTER KITE BOOSTS AGILITY AND INCREASES RESPONSIVENESS. TURNING IS FAST AND THE FEELING AT THE BAR IS VERY PREDICTABLE AND RESPONSIVE.
NEW TRAILING EDGE DESIGN FOR LESS CANOPY WEAR
A NARROWER TRAILING EDGE AND A LIGHTER COMBINATION OF MATERIALS TO REDUCE WEAR AND TO CREATE A SLICKER KITE PROFILE.
My design updates for 2020 are not major design innovations, but a major design change that has opened up the arena of performance potential and more specifically its characteristic within the range of all-round kites.
BIG AIR, FREERIDE, FREESTYLE, NEW CAL STYLE! TOM HEBERT REVIEWS THE 2020 EVO
Tom Hebert’s still flying sky high with the EVO. From the lighter winds of New Caledonia to the extreme stage of the Red Bull King of the Air, Cape Town, it’s the only kite for him. Read what he has to say about the most user-friendly model in the Duotone Kiteboarding line that’s versatile, playful and full of potential.
What I find puzzling is that the renderings seem to show a contrasting darker leading edge and struts. Heck the white kite is listed as grey and it is apparent that is not the case.
I think if the kite actually looked like the rendering it would have been more attractive and practical,
And I can’t believe the red number is on.the right wingtip and not the left wingtip. Edit looks like red on both sides.
The 2018 is still may favorite.

In case anyone cares besides me, the wave and foil characteristics for the 2020 evo are now the same as the 2019.

Looks as a very quick marketing response, only the real test are going to show now if the drift is still good.
Yes, it appears there was a mistake originally, At least now there is a reasonable expectation that drift is the same or be slightly better than my 2018 evos.
The 2020 is slightly lighter. Having some more precision in the turning from the direct bridle sounds good. This video is the first I have heard of a higher aspect ratio and faster flying. I’m not sure that was an area that needed changing.
I expect to find out very soon how the new evo performs.
