Hey rogue_kiteboarder share some details, is that home made? If not send a link so I can review. Btw foiled today on a 5m really paying close attention to my bar and seeing that what I have is completely wrong for foiling

Those pickle forks are ugly and dangerous.

Again, I am just an average shmoe foiler, looking for an improvement in traditional bars for foiling. I look on our principal retailer here in Ontario and I see about 6 big kite brand bars, not one reasonably minimalistic foiling Bar.

How the bar weight and other features affect the ride on foil?
I am sure it is more relevant on racing but is there really a difference on freeride foiling?

If you are concerned with kite weight, then control system weight should be added to it. Or CL and everything above it, at least.
I have just sourced
QR from Cab for DIY bar, and it is 150 g -- like one extra strut.

I disagree with this. I am a fan of light kites for lighter winds and improved abilities with weight saving.
But when it comes to the bar it is différent. It is more a comfort issue rather than "efficiency" overall, but depending on which part.
For exemple Lines weight impact almost as kite weight (specially rear lines) but rigid bar does not pact ar all. Trim system impacts partly. CL even less. Carbon or alu bar not at all IMO (and i use both).

I agree that when you keep the bar handle in your hand its weight doesn't matter. But why do you think that front lines have less weight impact compared to rear lines?
