Which is better for heavy weight rider Evo or Rebel ?

I know some 225lbs+ individuals that learned on the Evo kites and some who ride them exclusively. I would be more focused on the intended riding type and/or riding level vs. the weight of the individual.

Some will argue that a 5-strut would be better suited for heavier riders and I would have agreed with that concept about 5+ years ago, but fabric, bridle design, and sewing techniques have improved over the last several years, so many 3-strut kites are as ridged if not more ridged than a lot of older 5-strut kites.

Imo, you're better off focusing on the riding style, not the person's weight. A person's weight is for helping with the sizing.

Dude, the rebel is calling your name. You won’t be disappointed. But to be sure, it’s always best to demo if you have the option. But as the above poster mentioned, you’d probably be fine with either. I still occasionally see some big, strong peeps buckle the 3 struts under big load. Have fun!

I don't see why a 5 strut would be less likely to buckle than a 3 strut. More struts give you a tighter canopy and less flutter, but not so sure they make the leading edge stiffer..

My 3 strut pivot is a rock at 11psi

On a side note most peoples kites I launch are way to soft IMO, pump that bad boy up!!!!

I have both kites at 95kg. The Evo's wings flutter and fold when they fly in the upper part of their windrange, especially when being loaded. This can be somewhat mitigated by pumping to 8PSI, which is what I do, but probably voids the warranty. If you plan to fly it low-mid end, the Evo will be fine for your intended use at 6-7PSI.

I have many Rebel kites over the past 10 years.
Always pumped as hard as I can putting all my weight on the pump.
Never had any problem at all (including occasional tomahawk)

Evo or Rebel, just pump it up!!!
