Cabrinha bars

Postby beebad » Tue Nov 05, 2019 2:30 pm

I am at a juncture where I can switch cabrinha bars. I have always had the 1x recoil style bars, one is fixed and one is adjustable.

Currently they have the modular models.

Also can anyone comment the trimlite vs the recoil?
Thx

I switched to trimlite - I like it better overall - much easier to power and depower.
The only thing I miss from recoil is that the spring acts like a stopper where I can rest the bar on it when the winds are really strong.

Had Recoil from a while back, got Trim Lite last year or so because of you didn't want the Overdrive, you had to get the cleat.

Trimming was fine and I enjoyed not catching my fingers under the Recoil stopper, but having a trim line snap because of rough casting in the cleat sucked. My other bar was wearing in the same place too, both less than a year old.

I've got both recoil & trimlite. I like them both and have no real preference over either - except perhaps that the trim lite is a lot easier to wrap up than the recoil.

I have always had the recoil models and never had issue...one is a 2015 the other is a 2016.

I am looking at the website on greenhap for the 2020 control bar but at the bottom it says chcicken loop not included...what am I missing?

I have never had an issue with the recoil...your comment about the cleat gives me reason for pause...wrapping it up would be easier....it is also almost $175 more than 2019 trim light...

I have several recoil bars and one trimlite bar. I prefer the recoil because I can let go of the bar to unspin the bar after a trick. When I try to do that with the trimlite which has no stop, the bar goes too far up making it hard to reach. Actually had a couple of good wipeouts when I forgot which bar I was using. My favourite Cab bar of all time is the 2015 non-overdrive recoil bar (fixed length). Simple and durable, still using a couple of them.

If your don't want to bend the PU tube, you can still wrap it up nicely enough: grab the leaders and center lines just above the buckle, loop or back to the bar then wrap the leaders around the end knob before you start wrapping the lines. Still bulkier then a cleat but not as bad as some make out.
