All I can say is I don't recommend white lithium grease or generic lubricant like 3 in one etc. My pump seals failed.

THX for replies! :thumb:
I have used WD-40, vaseline, white, normal, lithium grease, many oils from my wifes cooking supplies, motor oil, high tech RC heli motor oil, mineral oil, parafin oil, generic bike oil, spray silicone,3 in 1, ect...
A close friend had some old white generic silicone grease, tested, working by far the best!
ALL of the other lubes worked for a short period of time, as IMHO reacted with CHEAP rubber used in most pumps, and got gummy, sticky, attracted sand and dirt becoming stiff.
Did see inside my latest pump buys a very thin clear lube used, again very cheap brands, anyone know what they use?
Just wonder if silicone grease or oil would be better? :?:
I will also add I always use a good quality tape around top to cylinder threaded joint for added sand, dirt repulsion.

Have to say that with white lithium grease I've never seen any seal problems, neither do I see sand inside my pump (I regularly clean the pump which also has an effective air filter). But I also have silicon grease spray so in the future I'll use that instead of white lithium grease.

So far this has kept my 2012(?) pump alive. Seals seemed good after a thorough cleaning. Pretty visible where grains of sand have scored the pump chamber. I think the dry silicone fills those in and keeps the pressure. It's worked out for me.

That's only good for the bottom half, not sure you should put it directly on the shaft!

I cleaned my 2.0 wmfg pump on my last trip. Wmfg says to use lithium grease , but i only had silicone grease and it works well. I cleaned every part of this pump and the 1-2 valve switch. The whole thing works ten times better when cleaned.

2005 Ozone pump, from the Instinct -Sport ; kite is

Ps :
When your done with the pump , then put it back in the car ; it
doesn't like the sun.

Oh, so WMFG recommends using lithium grease? OK, I'll use 50:50 lithium and silicone grease spray, that way I'm bound to be right. Right?
