I specifically use the mono in the waves when there is decent swell. And use a faster freeride foil, with stab, on flat days.

Mono is a excellent choice for waves, very responsive handling and lots of fun.

I would swop between the two at least once a week, no issues. But definately would recommend just commiting to the mono for a good 10 sessions in a row when starrting on it.

Its a DIY wing, around 1000cm^2, 610mm span. So pretty similar to most general wave wings out there. 80cm mast.

Biggest day on the mono was over head high faces, really makes you feel alive. But generally somewhere between knee high and shoulder high here in Western Australia.

Looks good.

So as the DELTA 1500 cm² wing seems to exist already some time, has anybody used it as a mono and can say something about its pumping ability, in the best case compared to moses onda which is here the best I know till now?
And does George also offers a tuttle box head for his alu struts?

Hi vol,
looks nice and who knows maybe future foils will look like such a way in between, similar to foilfuns short fuselage foils. As for me the main focus is on low drag and a pure monofoil work already with the actual wings, I would prefer that. I think there is still much potential to make pure monofoils more stable to ride. To me pumping ability of a mono starts to be one important point to find out apart from top speed. I had an surprising well experience with a pretty small prototype with flex and high AR some month ago. Looking forward to that direction.

Here is another midway inbetween an integrated super small short stabi to a big reflex profile:

@Horst Sergio i watch your videos since years, i loved all !

I never found video of surffoiling or supfoiling with a monofoil.

I ride my singlewing foil with kite, wing, wave…I never go back to a classic foil :D

Hello All,

Since there are some questions on the Delta Mono wing, I thought I would post. I designed the Delta Cozumel and Delta Mono wing specifically for use without a stabilizer. They have much greater pitch stability than conventional wing designs. They also work very well with a stabilizer and most customers are using them that way. The Cozumel is 897 sq. cm. and is great for kiting. The mono is 1500 sq cm, and can be used as either a surf wing or as a kite wing. They are both easy wings to ride without a stabilizer. You will be comfortable on them after a session or two.

I also have a scaled up 1880 sq cm version of the mono wing, primarily for surfing. Again it can be used with or without a stab. I find that riding without a stab is easier on shorter struts. I would recommend a 61 or 71 cm strut.

I do have tuttle head struts available in a carbon construction at 61 cm length. Aluminum struts with plate mounts are available at: 61 cm, 71 cm, 81 and 91 cm.

If you want to contact me directly you can e-mail me at Deltahydrofoil@gmail.com.

Regards,

George Hradil
