Yes, that was fun to do the light wind test with them. We always love to push the limits.

Interesting video series.

No mention of the effect of equipment cost on riding in a very small margin of really light conditions.

Kiting give incredible performance on standard equipment (no foils in water or in air) in sensible wind.

Got some advice - if you live where the wind sucks and kiting is your thing... move... for a happier life.

What do you mean ?

Just a Side note advice : "dedicated" Light wind equipement is indeed a requirement for such marginal conditions, BUT is also interesting in a bit higher winds standard conditions, specialy for non experts who will gain a lot of confidence to keep the kite in the air (or relaunch) even after mistakes during transitions or jumps for example. Up to 8 knots i like to use very light kites for more fun while i can still work new tricks with less risks of swimming back to the beach.

simply put - this equipment cost a lot more, it is a big factor for most but isnt considered.

Sometimes it is really too low ... planning lost at 1:25 then too low to keep the Pulsion in the air, then swimm session...

It is true. Every extra knot of low end under 10-12kts adds probably $1000 to your quiver when moving into foils and foil kites. But some places you need this if you want to get out often. If you can’t afford it then just go biking or something. Stick to 10kts+, leave under ten knots to the rich old guys. We will Catch up eventually 😂. Average age in my local spots is 50+. Im always the youngest by far and I’m in my 30s 😬. Hope gear doesn’t get much more expensive.

Good videos guys. Enjoyable to watch and always informative.

in any gear-based sport, pushing the limits will cost ya.. since you mentioned biking, a friend of mine spent $10k on a triathlon bike and he is neither rich nor top triathlon champ.. just likes to perfect a bit in his gig.. So yes, you can kitesurf with a boogie board and ikea bag.. but that may not be as ideal as proper setup.. And you can have plenty of fun boosting race foils/hydrofoils in 10kts, just have to invest in gear and skills..

Losing weight doesn’t need to cost money.
A 15-17m LW kite on 35m lines on a huge door is not that expensive set.
A light 9m kite with 1500 sq.cm foil won’t cost much either

But then there comes “under 7 knots” :)
