source for foil hardware

Postby slowboat » Fri Nov 15, 2019 11:04 pm

Tired of the poor quality screws that come with most foils. Looking for a source of really high quality stainless or titanium screws where I don't have to buy a 100 of them. Real Watersports sells nice looking titanium screws individually but only in M6 and M8 sizes. I need M4 and 3/16th. Thanks

I’ve seen titanium screw snap twice followed by wade searches for the bottom of the foil next day. I would do steel only

Ebay. You can buy whatever exists there. Filter for your local area for fast shipment.

I use 304 stainless torx screws. Very impressed with them.

Does anyone know where I can buy Torx versions of these bolts? I've looked everywhere but can't find them in the right size to replace the Moses bolts.

I'd like to be able to carry only a torx tool.

accu.co.uk offers a very wide range of metric Torx bolts in stainless steel and you don't need to buy hundreds of them. I don't know the size of the screws in the pic above but here's an example for a cap head M6x50 screw in stainless steel which is not fully threaded (the pic is probably not correct):

Maybe you can also use a bolt with a pan head: https://www.accu.co.uk/en/37-hexalobula ... derway=asc

They offer worldwide express shipping at a reasonable rate:

Important to get 316 s/s fasteners, not the cheaper 304 s/s. 316 is much more corrosion resistant, will cause less issues in the long run.

There are hunrderds of other online stores that also sell hardware. this is just ONE example.
