So, 10-30 I'd say 8 and 15. But that means that you're going to ride the best wind (15-20) always with the "wrong" sail. Imo it depends on the real average wind of your home spot, first choice is for the most common wind range. In my home spot we have 90% 10-15, no sense to buy a Soul 8 for 10 days a year, I'd better buy a second hand pump 7 or 9 for big days and a 12/15 Soul quiver.

Obviously there is a shorter window - but when your in higher winds it doesn't matter if you lose a bit here or there, you've got plenty of wind.
Once parked or mid jump, not much difference if you have everything in perfect trim.

The specs of the 9m is very interesting.
Same front to back as the 10m and not much difference in width to the 8m.
Closer built to the 8m I think. With a bit more bottom end ?

Yea all the Souls are difference aspect ratios which is why they all fly differently. The 8m has been the favorite of many so FS decided to use the same AR as the 8 but space out the size a little more.

Last year I was riding the 10 and 15 M on twintip with 94 kg. I was starting to have fun from 11 knots with a Door on the 15m and used to Soul 10 from 20-35 knots.
This year I started to hydrfoil so I am using 12-9 combo. The 12 M starts me from 5-6 knots on a foil and changing to a door TT from 12 knot and changing it to small twintip from 15 knots of wind. The 9m Soul starts on a foil from 8-9 knots and so on...
The 12-9 combo might be a very good one as well if you are 75 kg. Fort the one kite set up I would go for the 10 meter and you should be able to cover the 14-30 knots on a regular TT and you can cover 7-14 knots with a hydrofoil.

I would buy the 9 or 10 if you like better landing in high winds. You have to be super juiced on the 8 to get soft landing like you get on the 10. I think the 10 bridges the gap better with the 15. You will have and obvious hole in the 20 -25 knot range. Sure you can fly the 15 in 20 knots, but at your weight it is at the top-end. You can also ride an 8 in 20 knots, but jumps will be small. If you were looking for 30 to 35 knots on your high end, I would recommend the 7 or 8.

I personally like the 10 out of all of my Soul Kites. It is playful, rips you off the water, yet is still so floaty.

I am debating more less same scenario. I currently own 18m, 12m and 9m Soul's. The price tag adds up, so if I could cut it down to two kites, that would help my wallet, and less complaining from the girlfriend! I am not into foiling yet, my 18m Soul, allows me to kite in low wind with most foilers, and I find the 18m a smooth kite to ride! My 9m, its a interesting kite, likes to move fast, and fly low, like most smaller kites, which is not a normal feeling for me, where I live; wind is on the lowish side, an I am normally flying my 18m and 12m for most of the summer. 9m, is used maybe 5 times a year. So not sure which direction to go. Thought about keeping 9m maybe go for 10m instead as I don't see myself riding in anything over 30 knots, then Sell 18M and go for Sonic 15m, as I think the 15m Sonic3 may have a slightly larger window on low end versus 18m Soul, but not sure, but on paper it says it does. So I could go 10m or 9m Soul with 15M Sonic, then maybe foilboard down the road, and save a small amount of money on the third kite.

You may want to add rear line pigtails so you don't need any depower in 20 knots.
Save that depower for 25 - 30 etc :thumb:
Hello mate, not heard of this mod before...is does this improve low end?

Ppl are claiming that they are holding down the 15m at 20-22knts. I use my 15m w 24m lines though, and above 18-19knts, it gets sketchy. I was looking for one Soul that can cover between 19-30knts range, and 9m might do the trick. i think I should also consider 20m lines, but I love my 15m's low end too much, afraid of losing it in comparison to some gain in high ends.
Thanks for the tip!
I can ride my 15m with 26m lines in 20kts with gust to 24-25kts. When its gust I pretty much have to wait for gust to go away.
It has incredible high end but riding overpower its not fun as it rips you from edging easily and jumps are more horizontal than vertical. It seems to me that due to slow turning speed it easier to jump high overpowered on LEI than na Soul.

I would get 9m & 15m combo for my 92kg but I end up getting XR kites and it's quite gusty once wind in above 20kts and foil kite are starting to do crazy shit.

Hi,

I would say 15 + 8 m is a big gap.
You can compensate with two boards,
that will significantly increase your range.
I got 12 + 8m and radical 138cm + 128cm at around 67kg
the 12m + 138cm tt, upwind from 8-10kn, fun starts at 11-12kn
And with the smallest radical 6 board, I'm quite comfy up to 26-30kn with the 8m

at 75kg today I would have chosen 15 + 10m souls (maybe 9m)
