Lines suck either way. Throughout the years I’ve noticed north lines deteriorate pretty quickly. It sucks, because their kites are great and last a very long time. Honestly, I would not buy duatone kites again, due to the shitty lines. Mucho sucko
Wasn't duotone going to change out from those crappy lines to better ones like 2 years ago? Does there 2020 gear still have those junk lines?

None of them are pics of kota, and like said.. part of the contract for sure. Kota though.. high winds, huge risk for very small reward$.. no one is going ride kota forced to use a click bar if they don't want to as part of their contract.. common sense.
From the Kota all the video seems to be too far away but Lasse Walker in 50 knots in the Red Bull mega loop challenge

(Team riders use it)
I suspect that is because it does work and is reliable and offers a performance advantage.
And kind of required to as part of being a team rider?

Plus, part of their sponsorship is pimping/testing the sponsors gear?

Not to mention all of their gear is pretty much brand spanking new!

So definitely not a good example of the average or high level consumer out there.
I’m guessing all team rider gear is pretty much brand spanking new.

I didn’t bring it up.

I was replying to this quote.
Does anyone use a click bar in Kota?.. in super high winds.. even team riders?
Yes, team riders do seem to use the click bar in extreme conditions.

Yes, I agree, the lines don’t last very long. Definitely the low point for the duotone bars..

That is nuts, why would u do that...absolutely insane to trust the extra mechanisms of a click bar in 50 knots. Look at poor old Ruben Lenten.. if things can go wrong.. they will go wrong however 'unlucky' it was.

It was pretty obvious that riders were going to get knocked out wearing boots in kota too catching edges rapidly decelerating their brain, but didnt stop some of them.. even the ones that drowned.

Just not a wise idea, I wouldnt encourage their use whatsoever. I don't think lasse walker should use them, especially in super high winds with high forces involved.

I doubt other duotone riders will use them in kota, I really hope they are free to choose.. otherwise that would be insane. The risks are so high with such bull$hit rewards.

Not really, your electric windows are independent from your car steering wheel and won't cause steering problems if it fails in any way. The mechanism in the click bar could.

Anyone can buy and ride what they want, I think click bars are bad engineering.
Where are the examples of the Click bars failing?

I’ve had multiple failures on regular bars, all very simple components and in use for decades.

I’d be willing to bet I personally have had more failures on normal bars than there have been globally for Click bars...

Please, the links to the cheap used Click bars...

I don’t think you understand that the mega loop challenge is a step up in extreme from the Kota.

Again the design is solid, the complexity has been moved out of the high load front lines and moved to the low load rear lines.

When I get a chance I’ll walk through the design and do some calculations on failure loads given part size and material. Once you use it, take it apart, and think about it. It doesn’t seem so scary and makes a lot of sense,

I get that it is newish but it has been out for a number of years and it appears that the team riders in all disciplines are using it,

And other duotone riders did use the click bar at the 2019 Kota.

I've been using the same gen 1 Click bar for almost 3 years. The stock lines are long gone. The bar itself has been flawless. The mechanism hasn't slipped, accidentally released, or done anything to make me doubt it. It's been by far the best control bar I've owned.

Shitty chicken loops are the mechanism that is going to injure/kill you if it fails. Iron heart 5, I'm not worried. Everyone had been trying to copy it for years.

Fly whatever you want. Don't make assumptions on equipment that you've never used or have experience with. Obviously if Click Bars failed it wouldn't be one of the best selling bars on the market.

Click bar is legit, ditch the stock lines and you're dialed.

Well we will beg to differ. One of best selling bars? Lol

If you are lucky enough to be able afford one ($1000?!) considering increased potential failure points, unseen wear points and an overall heavier bar, that is your choice.

Ultimately, this bar adds zero value in the way of performance and will do nothing for anyone's riding ability.

A reflection of kiteboarding in 2019.

How is seeing young, inspiring, ripping riders using these $1000 bars a positive influence to other young riders?

The product is an oxymoron. Reality - A company that uses young sponsored riders that get products for free to market to affluent middle aged riders.

Enjoy your click bar, they will die a death along with any other similar wacky ideas developed by recently graduated engineers or engineers with average at most kiting experience.
