Interesting idea. Since you have to land and re-launch the kite to do this anyway, I wonder if it would be better to have the entire middle section be removable. Rather than folding up inside the kite, you could unzip the center section, and zip the two end pieces back together. It would keep the kite lighter in the smaller configuration.
Reminds me of the windsurf sail that you can zip sections on/off. I love the idea but you just end up with multiple sail sizes that don't work very well. I'm guessing this wont be much different.
Adds weight and complexity. Just make simple, inexpensive SS kites. The market needs very small sizes (less than 3 meters)
1+ about smaller than 3m
One note. IMO these sizes needs to be from heavier material than bigger sizes. Load per area is MUCH bigger. 2m kite vs 12m kite is 6x bigger load if rider see same power from kite.
In wind you will use 2m kite little more weight doesn't matter.
But as expedition kite for snowkiting it is perfect idea. AS LONG as kite work as good as normal SS /peak 4/. Conditions often dramatically changes as you climb up in mountain
Where’s the true innovation gone in kiting? All the kite companies jumped on the foil wing band wagon when someone dragged one of these out of their shed and tried it on a foil.

The Delta3 Multisail:
I had one of those sails --- bad memories. It totally sucked!!!
