Clouds are fragile

I have owned 10+ Clouds and I have only ever worn out the canopy material on my 12 C2 due to self launching on sand/dirt etc .. I run them through rinse cycle in the surf, taught a few people to kite with them ..... They are pretty indestructible.

How is canopy stretch in Clouds? My one strutter is quite messed up after couple of years...been riding it super over powered though. Could imagine that the struttless design is even more prone to that.

I do think they bag out a bit faster than kites with struts, especially if you ride them overpowered. Cost a little kite speed and a few degrees upwind, but for the most part for foiling I still prefer a bagged out cloud to a regular three strut kite.

I pleated the centre TE of my 8.5 when it began flapping during normal use. Took in less than an inch tapered In to where it no longer fluttered (about 6”) and it cleaned right up. Simple V fold taped on both sides with sticky back rip stop. Was done as a test, but its held up for half a season so far. That kite has so many hours on it I half expect it to blow up mid air, but so far it just keeps going.

Im seeing these things are extremely fragile, .... Anyone have the same experience?

No quite the opposite, have had C1's take tons of use & abuse for about 5 years, no durability issues, durability same as any other decent kite.

Recently upgraded to Cloud E's - Wow, they have improved, makes me wish I'd upgraded sooner.

I have tons of hours on my Clouds and not a single issue with them. No damage, tears, leaks, etc.

I mostly use them for waves and foiling.

Just another bit of info: I had my last session foiling on a 7m c2 prototype Greg used for bridle tuning before production. Wind about 15-18 kts. Still flies great.
When I bought it second hand I asked Greg about it, he said it had “100,000 miles” on it. Or was it 200? I forget.
At any rate Greg has said likes how clouds fly when old and soft better than when crispy new.
The info about taking in the TE is very interesting though...

Expensive, really? Sounds like a very good product: uses less material, structure, details and labor and still sells for a good price. Even bar and safety systems are simple, essentially a plain stick with some knots in lines and few plastic balls. I'm quite sure small Clouds are the most profitable products in the industry.
