Of course they are more fragile, as maybe 40 % lighter than most other "light" LEI kites.

But as with all other things, if you are not harsh on them in daily use (crashing hard, dragging on things on land or in the sand etc) there are no problems I would say, and they are so much better when that light :thumb:

Not a typical beginner kite anyways (a bit too foil specific for that), so should not be an issue IMO.

That is not why they are lighter. They are lighter because they do not have multiple struts and bladders. The construction is fine and they are using the same exact materials that other kites have.
I think beginners would be fine on them as well. No magic needed. They are different for sure.

Not true, when comparing strutless kites only.

They are all without exception a bit or somewhat heavier, can be a lot in fact, than the Clouds.

So comparing apples to apples there is a difference.

The other strutless kites are heavier.
Naish Trip, Storm Voyager, Gong Strutless,

Does this means worse or better?

Not easy to determine, as depends on your use, but as long as they hold up just fine, the lighter the better :thumb:

It seems the onestrut Ozone Alpha is almost as light even with the strut, so something must be omitted elsewhere.

Ozone Alpha is a nice light wind light without doubt and I foiled on it back to back with a Gong all felt similar.
Neither stay in the air in light wind like a Cloud.
While Clouds are lighter I think design also comes into it.

There are no scuff pads, only one attachment point, and even the silk screen graphics are kept to a minimum.

From what I have seen, they hold up just fine.

Dude, even the seams are kept as simple as possible.

They are the bare minimum for LEI until lighter materials.

Almost perfect.

Although they perform wel in the waves (you can ride a smaller size then other wave kites), these kites are meant to be used underpowered on a foil and keep up very wel.

When Greg first designed them (models 1 and 2), I don't think foils where even a consideration.

I bought all of mine for wave riding on a surfboard.
