Thinking of going to Turkey in July this year. Anyone know much about the kitesurfing set up or can give me a heads up about the place in general? Normally go to Egypt but the wife wants to eat out a bit more and see some culture rather than just spending two weeks in a resort in the middle of nowhere.

Sounds like you haven’t been in El Gouna, Egypt then?
Many place to dine out...and nice harbours to hang out.
Just as alternative.

Been to El Gouna, was a few years ago but I don’t remember the eating experience anywhere other than the hotel I was staying in being a memorable experience.

I assume you had full or half pension?
Some hotels there offer dine around...you can without extra payment have dinner at other hotels.
If you stay in a 5 star like Moevenpick, you can visit the other 5 star hotels and dine there...it’s nice.
And the Marinas habe nice Restaurants as well...sure, need to pay for it, but it’s worth it to escape the same hotel.
You may also consider Greece...good winds during summer.
Don’t know when you plan to go...maybe some other guys can post some options for you.

I would recommend the Greek Island of Naxos for a good kite & other things holiday, plenty of good beaches, villages, walks etc and very nice inland.

We are off to Rhodes, thanks for the replies though.
Went to Naxos as few years back, nice place but a bit quiet for my girls.
