There were several guys jumping big yesterday afternoon at Kite Beach, not sure who else had a WOO. Given the gusts were 45-50 knots and the ramps were available, this height is not surprising, but still kudus to all of them for doing it. Just for reference, that is like jumping over my flat on the top floor of a 10-story apartment block!

The 8.1g was his hardest landing of the session that day, not necessarily the biggest jump.
These guys are going massive and the skill and commitment is insane! When the wind is blasting 50kts I bet its hard to get a photographer standing in the beach videoing for more than 5minutes

The difficult thing in filming them at Kitebeach in CPT is they don't stay in one spot.
They all do downwinders because one jump takes them probably 100 m (or more) downwind and if they have to battle upwind after each jump they waste the energy that they need for popping and boosting in those conditions. Also the pro camera guys have troubles with their expensive equipment getting sandblasted. But there are many people on the shore, so lets hope some video's from cellphones pop up, like the 30+ one with Joshua Emanuel (on his Insta). Even with mediocre quality it's great to watch them.

Too right Barry and high gins, the photographers on Friday were all hiding in their cars up along Marine Drive, but not being critical as they have expensive lenses that don't take well to being sandblasted. Bear in mind it was hard just to stand on the beach. I have iPhone videos of several jumps that day, taken with my feet in the water to avoid being sandblasted, but the image itself vibrates as the wind blasted the phone. But I missed both of Lasse Walker's massive megaloops, and he was riding in place so they happened right in front of me, and the really big jumps Maarten and others did were further north of where I was, I think as part of that downwinder group jj followed.
