According to the gleiten video:
- Boxer 7m² - 2.14kg
- Boxer 9m² - 2.5kg
- Boxer 12m² - 3.05kg

According to ozone website
Alpha 12m² - 2.50 kg

The question is does it make a huge difference 0.5kg in lightwind (7-9 knots)?

Naish claimed that the 2020 version is lighter than the previous years. Are those Boxer weights for the 2020 version?

In 7 knots 0.5 kg is a lot. I always try to sail with less wind and I can ride with 12 ultra and long lines when people use 18m race kites o ozone hyperlinks...these have to fight in lulls and bow ties while my kite copes very well.

And I'm adding a 14 mts ultra for this spring.

The title of the video test says 2019. But the kite in the video if you look the colors and graphics you will notice that is 2020.

Agree, weight is only one parameter...

Strutless are usually rubbish for other boards than kitefoiling, and kitefoils in the upper end of the range.

Meaning are you going to use the kite for other things than marginal winds or their sweetspot wind, dont go strutless.

Find out which kite you like the best (eventhough that is what you are trying to now, I know, and this is also 1 struts)

I know many who dislike their strutless, as if out and wind picks up, they are flapping all over.
Where I dont mind, as I rig down, so avoid the upper ends.

Relaunch, and drifting in the water is sometimes tricky, and drifting can be impossible...

But they ARE lighter and better, if you can live with above.

Same goes to a tiny extent for 1 strut kites, compared to 3 strut kites, but not nearly as bad, as they drift just fine when on the water, most of them.

Maybe slightly off topic...

But how well the kite turns, how it balances, how it reacts on sheeting, these are the other extremely important and different parameters one has to evaluate, apart from weight.

Disagree with you Peter re higher wind performance.
I have kited my 9m struttles Gong in 25kn wind riding a Moon Patrol mutant doing 20kn speed, excellent upwind performance and no issues.
With this experience I feel it would perform well in even stronger wind ok.
